Location:
The Centre is in Ayles Road just off Kingshill Avenue on the borders of Hayes & Northolt. The nearest station is Northolt tube Station or Hayes & Harlington main line station from Paddington.
The E9 bus from Ealing Broadway via Greenford stops outside the centre and the 90 bus from Northolt Station to Hatton Cross station via Hayes Station stops at the end of the road in Kingshill Avenue.
History:
Barnhill Community Association was formed in 1990 by members of the local residents association. It continued until 1994 without a "home" using the Barnhill School for Social Events. After the closing of the School a 7 year lease was granted to the Association in 1994 for the old school buildings.
Barnhill Community Association always campaigned for the school to be re-opened, The funding agency for schools agreed that there was a need for a school in the area and purchased the old buildings and land to build a new school. With some of the money received by the LBH for the site they built the Community Association a Brand New purpose built Centre. The Community Association moved into this building in April 2000 and it was formally opened by John McDonnell in the summer. Barnhill caters for all ages and cultures and is going from strength to strength with a vast amount of hard work being done by volunteers. The centre has a long standing tradition of providing a playscheme in the summer holidays and is currently running for three weeks every summer the 'Star Club' is fully registered with OFSTED.
Once a month an African Caribbean Club and a Metal Detecting Club meet and also Healthy Hillingdon run courses e.g.Health & Beauty / Health & Well being.
The centre has a large and a small hall to let for weddings, parties, etc., and also smaller rooms ideal for meetings as well a range of equipment for meetings.
